Description:: Enrico Porta, as Rigoletto, and Ray Gagan, as the Duke of Mantua, performing with other cast members in “Rigoletto" The singers wear costumes evoking 16th century attire - the female singers wear long gowns with full skirts and full, round sleeves. The men wear stockings, doublet-inspired tunics, ruff collars, and baldrics (for holding a sword) around the waist. Porta (L) and Gagan stand at center stage and sing with cast members standing behind them. The stage set represents a room in the Duke’s palace complete with a throne (an ornate wooden chair covered with a canopy, placed on an elevated platform). The walls are built with faux columns and crests mounted on them. Musicians are viewed in the orchestra pit at foreground.

Description:: Santa Monica Civic Opera singers performing in "The Barber of Seville." The singers, wearing 18th century Spanish clothing, portray Count Almavida (dressed as a soldier), Bartolo, and Rosina (portrayed by Natalie Garrotto). The players are surrounded by a stage set recreating a room in Bartolo’s home. The set, painted with decorative paneled walls and a faux fireplace, is also decorated with end tables, chairs, a curtained window and candelabras. A pianist is visible from the orchestra pit. Performed at John Adams Junior High School, Santa Monica.
