Description:: SPANISH: Enrique Espejo Sepera es entrevistado por Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold sobre los siguientes temas: 1. La fiesta de la boda (jaqichasiña) que se realiza durante dos días. La familia del varón (chacha kasta) y de la mujer (warmi kasta) cumplen un rol importante en la nueva vida de los recién casados, al otorgarles regalos como una muestra de apoyo para formar su hogar. Menciona la práctica del ayni (hoy por ti y mañana por mí) en el matrimonio que garantiza el retorno de algo dado. 2. El matrimonio entre hemano y hermana o entre primo y prima (wilapura), que era aborrecido y odiado, forzando a los jóvenes (qhipa qallu) de huir de sus casas. 3. La fiesta de Todos Santos en que se honra a los seres fallecidos. Esta fiesta dura tres días: el primer día hacen rezar para todos los niños pequeños (anjilitu), el segundo para las personas adultas (jach’a almas) y el tercero es el despacho, cuando llevan todo lo preparado al cementerio. 4. Luego Don Enrique describe las ideas regionales sobre el Condenado (Kuntinaru). Description:: SPANISH: María Ayca Llanque habla con Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold sobre tres temas: 1. La montaña local Jujchu llamada Niña María Jujchu T’alla. Le dan de comer (manq'aña) doce platos, que incluye la papa deshidratada (ch'uñu), mote de maíz, mote de haba, harina tostada con agua (phiri), harina de trigo (tirak phiri), arveja, carne (aycha), tripas cocidas (jiphilla wayku o chunchulla), fideo, arroz, y por encima le colocan maíz molido y lo ponen al pie de Jujchu. Description:: SPANISH: Enrique Espejo Sepera is interviewed by Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold, primero sobre la importancia de la comercialización de sus productos agrícolas, al llevarlos a la feria regional (qhatu) de Challapata. Ellos llevan allí papa (ch’uqi), chuño (ch’uñu), carne (aycha) y oca (apilla) para conservar su economía autosuficiente. Para lograr una buena producción en el año ellos hacen libaciones (ch’allan) a la Madre de Comidas (Chayi Mamala). Don Enrique también menciona la importancia del dinero y explica cómo algunas familias comercializan sus productos para subsistir y para comprar camélidos, especialmente llamas (qarwanaka). Luego, describe el cuidado de los lindes del lugar, puesto que siempre están prestando atención (tumpasipxi) a sus terrenos, marcados con montones de piedras (mujuna) que asegura el tamaño real de sus terrenos. Finalmente, describe la importancia de la sal como alimentación de sus animales de rebaño. He also mentions the importance of money and explains how some families market their products to subsist and to also to buy camelids, especially llamas (qarwa). Then he describes the care of the territorial boundaries, as they are always paying attention (tumpasipxi) to their land, marked with piles of stones (mujuna) to ensure the real size of each plot. Finally, he describes the importance of salt used in feeding his herd animals. He mentions three types of salt: white salt (janqu jayu), jayu chijchhi, extracted from the river, and rumikachi salt in hard, rectangular-shaped salts. In addition, he indicates that they make libations (ch'allas) to the salt and know it as the Lady who Shines (Qhispi Siñura).

Description:: SPANISH: Mauricia Mamani habla con Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold sobre las preparaciones para elaborar de la cerveza de maíz o trigo (k’usa), como parte de los ritos para Tata Quri (Padre Oro). Primero se hace fermentar (t’amayaña) estos ingredientes por un determinado tiempo, posteriormente lo hervían a fuego lento, lo destilaban y sacaban la parte espesa (qunchu) y se queda con un líquido claro (ch’uwa). Era una cerveza muy fuerte y las personas que lo tomaban incluso podían estar ebrios (machantata) por dos días; lo bebían en los matrimonios y bautizos. Después, ella describe las libaciones (ch’alla) para Tata Quri, que se realizan todos los jueves por los seis mayordomos. Lo envolvían al santo con mantas femeninas o awayu y luego comenzaban el brindis para el Saxra q’awa (Riachuelo del Diablo), el Calvario, la sagrada iglesia (sanjrarutaki) y por todos los lugares en el pueblo. Describe primero a la familia Espejo, y cómo a su abuelo Juan Espejo de Qaqachaka y la esposa de su abuelo Sabina Martínez, del ayllu Condo, tuvieron una familia muy numerosa. Describe los hijos que tuvieron, los que vivieron y los que fallecieron. En sus descripciones hace referencia al dicho regional ikiñ talthapi, que quiere decir el último sacudón, para referirse a los últimos niñeos de una pareja. Los hijos (wawa) fueron formando su propia familia emparentando con los ayllus de Sullkayana y Kinsa Cruz, y con los ranchos de Ch’alla Kunka y Villa Belén. Por ejemplo, don Enrique Espejo contrajo matrimonio con Inés Choque y formó su propia familia en Qaqachaka. Finalmente enfatiza la importancia de la mujer (warmi) en la vida cotidiana, en la cocina y en los viajes que realizaban, en el campo. Él narra en dos oportunidades, al inicio y casi al final, los siguientes cuentos: El Cuento de la Zorra y la Perdiz (Liq'uchinti P'isaqanti), el Cuento del Venado y el Águila (Tarukanti Aguilanti), el Cuento del Lagarto y la Muchacha inca (Jararankhanti Inka imillanti), el Cuento de las aves Waychu y Ch’uñakira (Waychunti Ch'uñakiranti), y el Cuento del Cóndor y la Muchacha (Kunturinti Imillanti). 2. Comenta que la compró de Macha, y la interpretan a este instrumento desde la fiesta de Rosario hasta carnavales. 2. Ambos interpretan tres canciones con acompañamiento de la guitarra.
